Find the Best Real Estate Agent for You

Finding a real estate agent in Huntsville

Trying to find the right real estate agent house or property hunting needs does not have to be a challenge.  There are as many different types of agents out there as there are buyers.  The search should be based on your needs, your expectations, and the focus of the agent.  We understand that the Real Estate Agent is out there for you and we are here to help you find him/her.  Take a look below at 5 tips for finding the best agent for you.

5 Simple Tips for Finding the Best Agent for You

1.  Take out a pen and paper and write down a list of your needs and expectations for this purchasing experience.  Each purchase will have its own unique challenges.  Keep this list with you when you are searching for your agent to refer to.

2.  Ask for a referral from someone you know like and trust.  Many of your friends, family, and co-workers have made recent purchases and we are sure that they would love to share their experience with you and refer you to their agent.  Find out the top reasons the agent worked out for their purchase and see if those reasons match up to the list you created.

3.  Use search engines to review the work of potential agents.  You can look over the different social media avenues to see how the agent invests his or her time.  Reviews are also a good way to learn more about potential agents.  Look for positive reviews as well as negative reviews and use the information to create a balanced understanding.   Zillow, Trulia, and are great resources to find buyer and seller testimonials and reviews.

4.  If you are looking to sell your home, ask the agent you are interviewing how many listings he/she currently have on the market as well as how many properties they have sold year to date.  Some of this information may be available on the agent’s website.  Some agents focus on niche listings.  Looking over the listings may help you determine if that agent will work best with your current lists of needs.

5.  Make an appointment with potential agents.  Talk to them about the process used to find your new home or sell your home, which ever is applicable.  Ask questions that you have collected during your own research and planning.  Be mindful of any connections or disconnections you may have with the agent.

When speaking with or interviewing potential agents, always be open and honest about your own expectations.  Simple communication can make the process easier than anything else.  You may even want to show the agent the list you created at the beginning of the process.  It is better to find out upfront instead of in the middle of the process.

Finding the right property for your needs will be a team effort.  The more you invest from the beginning, the easier the process will run.  The agent can be one of the foundational points of your real estate search.  Invest the time to know what you need and then seek out the agent that will best meet those needs.
